Help construct a brand new trail system in the Pineries Open Space, an area in Black Forest scheduled to open to public access for the first time later this year! This workday will be led by the Rocky Mountain Field Institute, a Colorado Springs based nonprofit organization that leads hundreds of volunteer-based trail and restoration workdays throughout Southern Colorado.

What to expect: This is a full day of moderately strenuous work using tools in the outdoors and involves a moderate hike of up to a couple miles between the parking area and worksite.
Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 13+. Volunteers aged 13-16 need to be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring: Water, a lunch, rain gear,  work gloves (if you have them), sunglasses, sunscreen, work gloves, backpack. Since this project is ALL DAY, please ensure you have everything you need, especially a lunch & lots of water.

What to wear: Long pants, sturdy work or hiking shoes, no shorts or open-toed shoes
