Edith Wolford Elementary (EWES) is a cornerstone of our small community with a rich history in the Black Forest. At EWES kindness is the rule, staff can know each and every student, family is welcomed and incorporated into the life of the school, and educators form tight professional learning communities to help students reach their full potential by igniting strengths and passions.

What to expect: Volunteers will be moving mulch, doing trail maintenance, picking weeds, and painting.

Age Requirement: Family-friendly, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

What to wear:  Please wear comfortable work clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Ensure you wear sunscreen. 

What to bring:  Bring work gloves, pitch forks/stall forks/rakes/shovels. There will be piles of mulch around the trail that will just need to spread. If you have a rake sitting at home, please bring it!

Parking instructions: There will be limited parking along Elementary Road...There will be ample parking and a short walk to get to the outdoor classroom. Turn west on Elementary Road (from Black Forest Road). Go west until you see the turf field. Turn right after the field and fence and this will lead you to a large parking lot in the back of the school. They may park anywhere in there.

Meeting Spot:  The outdoor classroom - off Elementary Drive and Black Forest Road...it's on the south side of Elementary Drive and labeled 'Wolford Outdoor Classroom'
